This morning I saw a Youtube video of a woman teaching a dog to stack food bowls. What fun! I had to try it! (Doing it a little different of course. . .) Here's hers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zK-8OtJxso
And ours. . . .
We had a couple of little short sessions on hold and stand today. The stand is just standing and doing nothing. I'm applying light pressure to his sides and pressure on his legs - he has to lock his legs and not lift them.
Great behavior - and so cool to watch his thinking process! Especially at the beginning, he reminds me of playing the game '20 Questions' - where you ask some basic questions before you can start fine-tuning an answer. Things like "paw or muzzle?", "push or pull", etc etc. He has really learned how to ask questions. Well done!
ReplyDeleteSharon, I love this! Playing 20 questions to fine tune the answer. What a great description of shaping. May I steal it?
